A proud milestone for the circular industry in the Netherlands

Circtec officially opens its groundbreaking tyre recycling facility in Farmsum, in the presence of King Willem-Alexander.

With a highly optimized execution schedule, for PMF peak on-site activities of up to 138 FTE, and a delivery window running from site mobilisation in April to mechanical completion by the end of 2025, we are extremely proud to have contributed to this innovative project. Our teams demonstrated exceptional flexibility, commitment, and delivery capacity across the disciplines of Piping, Mechanical works, Electrical & Instrumentation works, and Pipe Racks, even during the most demanding phases of the project. This achievement reflects not only technical excellence, but also strong collaboration and a shared determination to make it happen.

Once fully operational, the plant will be able to process up to 180,000 tonnes of end-of-life tyres per year, converting waste into valuable raw materials for:
new tyres,
new plastics, and
future low-carbon fuels for international shipping.
At full capacity, the project is expected to deliver a CO₂ reduction equivalent to ~5% of the total emissions of the Dutch chemical sector, making a tangible contribution to a circular economy.

Congratulations to Circtec on this remarkable step forward — we are proud to be part of it.

We thank everyone involved for the trust, dedication, and shared ambition that turned this vision into reality.
